WHAT WE DO We aim to create an inclusive society by bridging gaps between various communities using available resources such as government and private schemes/programmes aimed at uplifting the disadvantaged group. We strive to facilitate access to schemes, policies and opportunities to the disadvantaged and marginalized people so as to ensure a better future for them and this nation. Currently, as part of PEN, India’s premier network of policy implementers, we are working on Project Eklavya, an Indus Action initiative, which aims to facilitate the effective implementation of Section 12(1) (c) of the Right to Education Act 2005 and ensures inclusive education. WHAT WE WANT We are looking for an individual who has the urge to impact as many lives as they can and contribute to their betterment. We are looking for an individual who wants to lead a movement that would change lives, empower people and bridge the gaps between various members of our community. Lastly, we are looking for a person who resonates with this cause and is willing to put in efforts to bring the change that they want to see. WHAT YOU GAIN 1. An opportunity to be part of a movement which is aimed to impact a billion lives. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Participating in every aspect of building a policy implementation tool that is aimed to impact a billion lives in the coming years. 2. Strategizing the best ways to develop the policy implementation tool. 3. Develop effective strategies for information dissemination about the policy implementation tool to the general public. 4. Research and building database on various government and private schemes that would benefit disadvantaged and marginalized members of the society, with a specific focus on policies which have not been effectively implemented and verifying the information with the district authorities and departments. 5. Prepare easy to read and informative write-ups for all schemes/programme. The research will include online research and interactions with officers in government/private institutions. 6. Conduct research to identify the possible location for a high impact awareness campaign. 7. Strategizing the effective methods of outreach to target populations of various schemes. 8. Conducting polls and awareness campaigns in the local community. 9. Assisting in community outreach campaign. 10. Help design collaterals for the campaign. SKILLS REQUIRED 1. Professional Proficiency in English and at least conversational proficiency in Hindi. Knowledge of Kannada or Tamil would be an added advantage. 2. Adept at MS Office suites. QUALIFICATION 1. Student or recent graduates of any undergraduate degree/ post graduate degree interested in the field of policy implementation. 2. Professionals interested in the field of policy implementation. LOCATION: Bangalore. Virtual internship is also available but in-office internship is preferred. DURATION: The duration is flexible, however, minimum period of internship is 4 weeks. NOTE: Prospective interns must note that we do not advertise monetary compensation as an incentive for you to join this movement as if that is your primary motivation then you may not be a right fit for this role. However, having said that, monetary compensation may be paid based your performance and quality of your deliverable as a token of appreciation.
