Plant 4 India is a one year long Fellowship in Rural Development, Land Restoration and Environmental Education. The Fellowship aims to support rural communities in India to restore their environment, build climate resilience and create long-term food security.\r\n\r\n*Responsibilities*\r\nThe Fellowship will begin with a training at Sadhana Forest, Tamil Nadu campus. After this orientation, you will facilitate hands-on training on appropriate water conservation and tree planting techniques for local people in the rural area assigned to you.\r\n \r\nYou will gain significant knowledge and experience in:\r\n* Water conservation – design and implementation\r\n* Reforestation\r\n* Biodiversity and ecosystem regeneration\r\n* Long-term rural development\r\n* Children’s environmental education\r\n* Sustainable living (renewable energy, composting, etc.)\r\n* Adapting to different cultural contexts\r\n* Leadership\r\n* Effective and compassionate communication\r\n* Time management\r\n\r\n*Requirements*\r\n \r\nNo prior experience in the fields of environmentalism and ecology is required.\r\n\r\nThis Fellowship is aimed at growing consciousness and self-awareness and is fully vegan and substance-free. \r\nIt is absolutely mandatory to be 100% vegan throughout the entire Fellowship and to not consume any animal products (no meat, fish, milk, dairy, eggs, honey, etc). Fellows are also required to be 100% substance-free, totally abstaining from tobacco, alcohol and drugs for the entire duration Fellowship. Failure to do so will result in immediate ending of the Fellowship\r\n \r\n*Location*\r\nThe orientation for the Fellowship will start at the campus of Sadhana Forest in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. Upon completion of this stage, you will be assigned to one of the Plant 4 India centers in rural Tamil Nadu or Meghalaya. Your accommodation in these areas would be in sustainable campuses.\r\n \r\n*In-Fellowship Support*\r\nWhen posted in rural India, a monthly stipend will be provided to cover for expenses.
