QA Engineer Lead

POSITION SUMMARY: Verifies that product operates as designed. Provides technical expertise in testing and product knowledge. Provides accurate estimates and reports of test progress. Writes Test Procedures under direction and Test Plans. LEVEL OVERVIEW Knowledge of modern test methodologies, Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports. Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and be able to reproduce and communicate these steps. Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products. Shows initiative in gaining theoretical knowledge in software testing. Works well in a team environment and alone. Has ability to adapt to the changing needs of a project and ability to meet deadlines. Requires a Bachelors degree and 4 years of progressive experience in Quality Analyst/Software Testing using specialized Tools (QTP) or any combination of pertinent education and experience. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Tests software releases during the product development. Reports test results and enter problems and issues into the bug database. Monitors and updates bug reports as needed including bug report closure. Configures necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments. Writes or assists in the development of test plans and test procedures. Completes assigned test-related tasks. Assists in review of test processes as they are developed. Performs specialized programming tasks requiring a high degree of technical proficiency in specialized areas. Prepares customer user manuals and training materials. Participates in user training and provides advice on operational issues. SPECIFIC JD TO THE POSITION: Job Responsibilities Requirement gathering of application under test. System, Integration & automated regression Testing. Design & execution of Test Scripts using QTP. Defect Management Activity - Defect Logging & Defect tracking. Skills Experience or Knowledge on various Software Development Life Cycle and Software Testing Life Cycle. Minimum 4 years of experience in Testing and preferable to have the experience in CRM applications. Should have more than 2 years experience with QTP scripts design and execution. Analyzing requirements, writing and executing test cases for complete SDLC. Well conversant with testing methodologies like Black Box Testing, Exploratory testing, System Testing, Regression testing, Smoke testing & Performance Testing. Reporting test results and test status independently. Ability to take ownership of assigned work. Strong communication skills, both in writing and oral. Requirements 1. More than 2 years of prior testing experience using QTP. 2. Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
