Urgent Requirement for Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary This is a Network Operations and Engineering position that will provide operational support for networks belonging to a diversified base of clients. Technologies include circuits, switches, routers, wireless APs, and some firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Load Balancers. Vendors include Cisco, Juniper, HP, Fortinet, Netgear, and many others. Prepares reports on current network direction. Qualifications Requires an Associates degree or higher, and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in networking. The candidate will possess network operational support familiarity, hands-on configuration and implementation experience, and some basic architecture and design knowledge with various network equipment including routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls. The ability to work remotely and with limited direction is greatly desired. Candidate must be able to work with minimal direction on several projects/activities concurrently, maintain projects priorities with assistance, and have the capability to research technical issues and develop solutions. Strong attention to detail, as well as excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills in English (written and verbal) are necessary. Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent required; CCNP desirable (other appropriate vendor certifications are acceptable). Principle duties and responsibilities Operational Work Environment 24x7x365. Use abilities to provide preventative maintenance, testing, and repair on network systems. Provide assistance with network management, from basic network design through implementation and the maintenance, and upgrade of existing networks. Analyze network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoot problems and recommend additions and modifications to networks. Assist with building, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure as well as client network connections. Have hands on experience with basic routing, static, RIP, EIGRP, VPN tunnels, HSRP/VRRP, etherchannel, etc. Assume a basic role in presentations by furnishing basic expertise and responding to customer inquiries on hardware and software. Expand network capability to handle complex IP solutions, including voice, web, video conferencing, other VoIP components, and unified messaging Update architectural diagrams, troubleshoot performance issues Provide training to level 1 operational team members, communicate progress to management in both verbal and written formats, identify barriers and suggest alternatives.
